a logo, a website, or a professional degree to validate it.

Founded by composer, producer, and educator Willie Russell Jr.,
the studio was built on a single conviction:

The Composer
Willie Russell Jr. is the founding composer and creative director of Sound Bout Right Productions®.
His path to cinematic scoring runs through over a decade in the music classroom teaching instrumental music across multiple genres and grade levels, developing the ability to hear what music is doing functionally and emotionally at every level of complexity.
That teaching background is not incidental to the work...
It is foundational to it.
Understanding how music teaches an audience what to feel is exactly what film scoring requires.
Willie holds a Master of Arts degree in Music Scoring and Composition and continues to work as an orchestral conductor, a role that demands the same skills a film composer needs every day: the ability to hold the full picture of a piece in mind while making precise decisions in real time about how every element serves the whole.

Where the Name Comes From
The name did not come from a boardroom.
It did not come from a branding session.
It came from a studio.
From hours of self-education,
countless YouTube tutorials - no mentor,
every technique figured out by ear.
From the slow process of learning to trust
what the music was saying before any
formal instruction could confirm it.
As the work deepened and things started clicking,
as compositions began to sound the way
they were always supposed to sound,
a phrase started showing up...
Not after failure...After progress.
After something working the way it was always meant to.
"Yeah, #ThatSoundBoutRight".
That phrase became the company name.
That conviction became the doctrine.
And the studio being built right now is
the physical proof that the instinct was correct.
